College of the Desert focused on sharing its future growth across its campuses in its annual State of the College address, “COD Rising,” Wednesday. Superintendent/President Martha Garcia, Ed.D., shared details about some of the College’s upcoming projects, including the Palm Springs Development Project, Roadrunner Motors in Cathedral City, and the Indio campus expansion.
Gonzalez said Thursday she wasn’t sure what project the board was even considering for Palm Springs. “Is it the one with the hotel convention center, private bungalows, presidential suites, culinary facilities, or even local organizations that are now claiming that the former president promised them office space there?” she asked, without elaboration.
The applicant pool for the Trustee Area 3 vacancy on the College of the Desert has dwindled from seven applicants to six, according to those familiar with the process.
