The West Valley Campus was reviewed yesterday by the Palm Springs Development Project Team and is moving forward with their updated plans for the campus.

The development of the new campus is still in phase one.
According to J.R. Roberts, vice chair of the Palm Springs Planning Commission, Robert’s pointed out that recent changes to the board have been positive for the College of the Desert, allowing progress to be made. “We’ve now got a board that can move something through and can get along well enough to see past their own issues and be part of their community and do what they’re supposed to do,” he said.The latest schematic design for the Palm Springs campus, which is now 90 percent complete, includes some changes based on public feedback from the last meeting.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 14th.
According to the latest projections, the completion of the College of the Desert’s West Valley Campus is expected by 2026.
