TRUSTEE BEA GONZALEZ HAS PROVED AGAIN THAT SHE HAS NO INTENTION OF WORKING FOR THE STUDENTS OR FOR THE BETTERMENT OF COD
Just when we thought replacing two members of the COD Board of Trustee’s with two qualified and professional members (Trustee Joel Kinnamon and Trustee Ron Oden) would help the majority of the Board eliminate the questionable and in some cases unethical behavior – we were again proven wrong. Trustee Bea Gonzalez, unable to accept the new professionalism of the majority of her fellow Trustees, continues to try to obstruct the forward thinking of this new Board. Her destructive attempts to thwart enhancement of the Community College experience for our students needs to be called out. You be the judge of just a few of her most recent votes on contracts from the August 18, 2023 Board of Trustees meeting: “One Coachella Valley” mentor and scholarship program for male Latino students – Bea voted NO Kaleidoscope Company furniture for the Black student Success Center – Bea voted NO Elm Resources program to help streamline loan processing for students – Bea voted NO Jewish Family Services to provide housing assistance for COD students who are housing insecure or homeless – Bea voted NO Jim Dunn & Company Program Development for the Visit Greater Palm Springs Hospitality Training Program – Bea voted NO These are just a few of the professional services contracts that are desperately needed to bring COD back to offering our students enough annual classes and the best educational experience. Trustee Gonzalez continues to exhibit her obstructionist behavior because of some perceived personal slight. COD cannot possibly move forward with a Trustee that exhibits that type of infantile behavior. Please email Trustee Gonzalez and tell her to work for the students not to satisfy her personal acrimony. Click here to send her an email. |
